Job
Description:
Operations
Director
is
responsible
for the
efficient
operation
of the
Distribution
Center,
delivering
quality
service
to
customers,
and
ensuring
productivity
and
expense
goals
are met.
This
position
will
over see
two
distribution
facilities
in
Kansas
City,
MO.
Manages
a
staff
of
employees
to
ensure
the
timely
distribution
and
receipt
of
product
while
meeting
the
Distribution
Center
standards
of
budget,
policies,
procedures,
and
quality.
Monitors
warehouse
productivity,
adheres
to
budget
requirements,
and
works
towards
obtaining
Distribution
Center
objectives
and
operations
goals.
Coordinates
the
maintenance
of
warehouse
equipment,
guiding
both
preventive
maintenance
programs
and
coordinating
all
necessary
repairs.
Ensures
that
warehouse
personnel
have
safe,
efficient
equipment
in
order
to
perform
the
distribution
functions.
Recommends
and
implements
programs,
policies,
and
strategies
to
increase
production
and
efficient
space
utilization
within
the
fac
ility.
Implements
and
administers
all
policies
and
procedures.
Ensures
quality
service
is
provided
to
the
customers,
and
ensures
prompt
follow-through
on
customer
correspondence,
complaints
and
inquiries
related
to
shipment
of
merchandise
and
stock-on-hand.
Handles
general
employee
inquiries
and
resolves
concerns.
Responsible
for
supervisory
and
employee
population
development,
which
includes
including
training,
coaching,
counseling
and
performance
appraisals.
Prepares
and
submits
daily
and
weekly
production
reports.
Maintains
positive
employee
relations.
Ensures
that
the
corporation’s
EPPIC
Core

consistently
practiced.
Desired
Skills/Qualifications/Certifications:
Excellent
communication
and
organizational
skills,
plus
the
ability
to
handle
multiple
projects
at a
time
while
meeting
deadlines.
Computer
experience
using
Windows
or
an
AS400
system,
and
prior
industry
or
distribution
knowledge
preferred.
Bachelor’s
degree
in
Business
Administration,
Management
or
similar
degree
required.
7 to
10
years
of
prior
experience
desired
in a
general
warehouse
/
distribution
environment.
5 to
7
years
of
supervisory
experience.
Pharmaceutical
experience
is a
plus.
Previous
experience
with
Lean
Six
Sigma
desired.
