Job Title: Director of Supply Chain

Job Description: Sourcing Principles & Methodology -Ability to understand process, methodology, tools, and analysis used to conduct sourcing initiatives; includes opportunity analysis through implementation.

  • Analysis - With direction, ability to collect and analyze data using various models, algorithms, and techniques. With guidance can evaluate and assess market trends.
  • Understand tools, systems and methods to collect data. With guidance, can determine necessary data to collect structure analyses and graphically represent findings.
  • Strategic Thinking -Ability to design & develop systems and tools; knowledge of appropriate data to collect and approaches to construct that contribute to strategy development and value creation.
  • Structuring Problems and Developing Conclusions -With direction, can analyze key issues in his/her area of project. Disaggregate pieces of his/her own analysis.
  • Project Management & Execution -Ability to follow project plans and proactively identify and communicate any issues that may impact successful delivery of the project plan, coordinating with others as needed. Follows direction and focuses on what's most important.
  • Be able to negotiate cost reductions with suppliers to enhance margins and improve profits. Negotiates supplier contracts.
  • Develop RFQ and analyze vendor responses (pricing, qualitative items).
  • Be able to manage assigned commodities and suppliers to ensure raw material is delivered on time. Identify and provide alternatives for supplier consolidation. Identify potential future supply disruptions and develop alternative solutions.
  • Utilize MRP output to schedule purchase orders and ensure material availability for production. Use MRP exception reports to schedule in or schedule out purchase orders. Ability to expedite material as needed by production.
  • Work with suppliers to schedule smaller, frequent shipments to reduce inventory footprint. Drive process improvements to reduce inventory and improve inventory turns.

Desired Skills & Qualifactions: FORMAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.

EXPERIENCE NECESSARY:

  • 2-5 years
  • Minimum of 2 years of expediting and/or procurement experience preferred
  • A mechanical and inventory control background helpful
  • Oracle / ERP knowledge beneficial
  • Incumbent must have a high level of motivation
  • Top notch communication skills, attention to detail, solid analytical/problem solving skills, and the ability to multi-task and follow through in a fast paced environment
  • High degree of fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
