Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer:
Job Description: As a manufacturing engineer, you will
be responsible for performing standard engineering
assignments usually representing a significant portion
of a larger project and selecting engineering techniques
to solve problems and make design recommendations.
Responsibilities include:
- Directs preparation of appropriate
documentation for assigned projects.
- Provides technical leadership to a small group
of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians.
- Ensures successful completion of the assigned
project phase within the budgeted time and cost
constraints.
- Participates in defining engineering approaches,
and in planning and scheduling work.
- Performs professional Manufacturing Engineering
assignments of an intermediate degree of complexity
under general direction and supervision with some
discretion as to work details.
- Provides support in the design, fabrication,
modification and evaluation of manufacturing
operations.
- Provides input to plans, process specifications
and procedures, production aids and assembly
fixtures, MRP support studies, factory cost work
standards development, and the like.
- Compiles and evaluates test and production data,
prepares technical analysis, recommends
manufacturing methods and processes required to meet
design objectives on new or improved products and/or
processes.
- Provides production floor and assembly support
in technical matters relating to assembly drawing
interpretation, engineering change notices, rework,
manufacturing difficulties and specifications.
- Provides training to lower-level Manufacturing
Engineers.
- Use DFM/DFA Techniques to assist Product
Engineering on the development of new products and
the redesign of existing products.
- Develops routings and labor standards and
updates the ERP system.
- Performs Line Balancing and Product Line Layouts
for increased efficiency and flow.
- Writes and/or modifies manufacturing work
instructions and acceptance test procedures.
- Designs systems, processes and equipment to
increase efficiency, decrease costs, and improve the
quality and reliability of the product.
- Design tools and fixtures for production and
acceptance testing.
- Analyze customer returns for root cause and
leads corrective action efforts in cooperation with
Product Engineering.
- Designs, specifies and implements fluid power
and/or electro-mechanical systems for production
equipment.
- In collaboration with production supervision,
utilizes lean principles to eliminate waste, improve
quality, safety, ergonomics and throughput.

Desired Skills & Qualifactions: Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or
university; and minimum five years related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with fluid power, mechanical systems
and lean manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with a diverse range of
materials (i.e. aluminum alloys, stainless steel
alloys, engineering polymers, composites, etc.).
- Must have the ability to read and
interpret engineering drawings, specifications and
technical data.
- Must be capable of applying statistical analysis
techniques such as Design of Experiments,
Optimization, Process Reliability, Hypothesis
Testing and Regression Analysis.
- Experience with CAD (AutoDAD and/or Solid Edge)
is required.
- Must have strong analytical and mechanical
troubleshooting skills.
- Must have strong leadership skills and
experience in program or project management
