Job Title: Material Program Manager
Job Description: Material Program Manager
Manages all acquired material and services for a program
or a group of programs. Coordinates activities of
various Supply Chain disciplines. Represents Supply
Chain to Customer, Program Management, and ATK
Management. May act as a Deputy Program Manager. Focus
is on managing suppliers and internal SCM team.
Responsible for total supplier performance for the
program and may supervise others.
Education:
Bachelors Degree required; Prefer BSBA, BSEE, BSME
and/or CPM/NAPM
Job Summary:
- Responsible for material supplier management and
performance, including quality parts on-time, at or
below cost.
- Responsible for proposal support to key pursuits
including acquisition strategy, supplier selection
and material costing.
- Facilitate, expedite and coordinate material
planning, negotiation and acquisition in order to
succesfully meet contractual, technical, cost and
schedule requirements.
- Act as a liasion internally between buyers,
planners, operations and program management as well
as externally with suppliers and customers.
- Budget and cost account responsibilties for
material and material support activities.
- Drive continuous improvement through the use of
process control and lean six-sigma principles.
Previous skills/experience desired:
- Experience working in government contracting
- Purchasing and supplier management experience,
including negotiation experience
- Proposal management experience
- High competency with Excel and PowerPoint
toolsExcellent interpersonal and communication
skills
