Job Title: Director Information Technology
Job Description: Position
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Director of
Information Technology (Dir IT) is responsible to
provide IT leadership and strategy for the growth of the
business, continue current service levels and manage IT
needs; manage systems policy, security, and reliability
concerns consistent with company needs and growth
requirements; and develop the people, budget, department
policies and procedures. A critical responsibility is
for the acquisition, installation and implementation of
all supply chain management systems.
Specifically, the Dir IT is responsible for: design,
development and implementation of comprehensive
information systems to meet user needs in accordance
with company requirements; development of systems that
are flexible and provide a solid open technical
migration path for long term stability; management of
day to day operation of the IT staff and to support
internal IT needs, data collection, processing and
reporting; implement technology applications and
solutions necessary for revenue generation and client
retention; and participate in company marketing and
sales efforts to include face to face client
presentation. Our current Business Analyst and
Network/Communications Specialist will continue their
outstanding contribution and report to this position.

systems include a tier-one warehouse management system
and transportation management system and they currently
utilize Red Prairie and Freight Logix systems to offer a
suite of service for any business need. Each system
offers a Web-based customer portal with real-time
information tracking throughout the supply chain cycle.

data between the customer’s system and solutions are
built around proven off the shelf technology. Our
client has met the challenge during these difficult

solutions. Our client has an immediate need for a
Director Information Technology to provide an integrated
IT strategy for the business and IT leadership as well
as day to day departmental and functional management.

Desired Skills &
Qualifications: Requirements
The successful candidate will have a BS degree in
Information Systems or related and at least 10 years of
broad based IT experience. We desire business leadership
and strong presentation skills in addition to strong
project management and familiarity with the warehousing
or transportation industry and a desire to be “hands
on”. Knowledge and skills required include: project
management processes and tools, mainframe development
and operations, client server and web-based technology;
ability to define documentation standards and strategic
direction to ensure company is able to meet mission and
organizational goals; strong leadership and motivation
skills with the ability to challenge and develop staff;
Red Prairie or comparable and JD Edwards (World) is a
plus; EDI transmission and integration; and network
implementation and administration including
internet-facing applications, VPN, VOIP, server, storage
and backup technologies for Microsoft-based Windows
servers, including Exchange email.
