Greater Kansas City
APICS Chapter (APICS-KC) will be hosting
a Career / Job Fair focused on Supply
Chain and Logistics as our April
membership event. This will be held at
Park Place Hotel on Thursday, April 23rd
from noon to 6 PM. (The Park Place is
located near I-435 and Front Street, just south
of Worlds of Fun). Please share this with
your Human Resources and job recruitment groups.
Several members of the
Kansas City organizations, similar to APICS, and
others have already been faced with or are
facing the threat of reductions in employment.
While some may be seeking a better opportunity.
We hope to assist everyone interested and in
need with our joint business contacts.
This is expected to be a large turnout from the
community based on those we have already
contacted.
The event concept is
simple. We plan to have many businesses
represented that either currently have a need
for people, or may have a need in the future.
We expect for the economic situation to improve
in the near future, so this opportunity may save
your organization both dollars and hours
searching for the skills represented by the
people coming through the event.
Our group, Kansas City
APICS, is handling the setup and logistics
regarding the event, we are asking for $25.00 to
help defray the costs of hosting the event.
This covers the rental for the “Fountains
Ballroom”, table and chair setup, and wall
system for dividers. Costs that exceed
your portion of $25.00 will be paid for by
APICS-KC. Meals and drinks are available at and
from the hotels’ restaurant at each person’s own
expense. We will be contacting all
the radio and television stations as well as the
newspaper about helping with our promotion of
the event.
In joining us in the event,
your organization’s name would be listed.
The earlier your organization signs up, the more
you would have a choice for booth space. If you
need “volunteers” to promote your
organization, collect resumes, applications, or
pass out information, we can arrange for people
to “man” your booth. The cost is $16.00
per person, per hour. We also offer half-hour
speaking engagements in our seminar room for key
note speakers to do a presentation to the fair
attendees. Please let us know if you wish
to do a presentation and the topic. These
presentations are slated to start at 12:30 and
run until close, at 6:00 PM.
We think this is a
fantastic opportunity to act as a single society
earnestly interested in providing help to our
membership base, and others. This is also
an excellent opportunity to expose your company
to a large audience all at once.
