Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. is
currently seeking a talented and innovative Production
Planner to join our Supply Chain department located at
our Fort Dodge, IA facility. The Production Planner
supports, reviews, and performs ERP System transactional
processes for selected Biological Production Departments
at the Fort Dodge facility, to ensure accuracy and
timeliness of Dir. Material Usage and Mfg. Receipts
stock. Additionally, serves as the Fort Dodge Production
Planning coordinator for all ERP System transactions to
support all internal Biological Manufacturing Operations
to ensure the operational effectiveness of the Advance
Planning system; further assist with system control and
processing of Out Dated & Obsolescence Dir. Materials
associated with Biological production. This position
also participates in the inventory control process by:
preparing and conducting location audits, reconciles
inventory balance discrepancies, conduct investigations,
determine root cause of variances, and develop action
plans for improving inventory control and balance
accuracy; provides ERP Transactional training, and
serves as primary contact in the resolution of Shop
Floor inventory discrepancies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reviews MAPICS transactions performed by selected FD
production departments, or warehouse personnel for
transactional asccuracy.

Performs assigned ERP System
transactions to support Dir. Material usage, and
receipt of Biological Intermediates, to assure
timeliness and accuracy of inventory.

Performs all internal FD
Biological Manufacturing Operational ERP System
transactions to support Advance Production Planning
system. Monitors and manages the timely closing of
all FD Mfg. Orders, to enhance credibility.

Maintains accurate traceable
hardcopy files of selected entries into the MAPICS
system.

Serves as contact for FD
location audit processes in the site warehouses and
production areas, and resolves inventory
discrepancies when necessary.

Participates in monitoring
outdated and / obsolete inventories; initiates
inventory transfer and destruction forms to ensure
compliance and accuracy of inventory balances.
- Routinely reviews
production orders and recommends bill of material
changes as necessary to improve inventory accuracy
(IU transactions).
Performs assigned limited access ERP System
transactions for FD Mfg. and SCM Departments, to
meet Financial Internal and External guidelines.

Serves as FD SCM ERP System
transactional training coordinator.

Serves as immediate back-up to Cell,
Media, Solutions, and Antigen Production Planner.

Serve as SCM project team
leader for new products and transfers to the FD
site.
Required
Education & Experience:
-
Minimum, BS Degree required.
Preferred in Operations, SCM, Accounting, and / or
Bus. Admin.

4 Years Experience required as
a Production Planner with thorough knowledge of how
an ERP System operates regarding the following
modules - Material Requirements Planning (MRP),
Master Production
-
Scheduling (MPS), Inventory
Management (IM), Production Control and Costing
(PCC), Product Data Management (PDM), and Purchasing
Modules.

Needs general knowledge of an
Advance Planning System, and the concepts of such a
system, and how it relates to an ERP System.
Desired Experience, Skills and
Abilities:
In order to properly calculate
assigned dependent and independent demands the incumbent
must have excellent math skills; at least college level
math, statistics, and / or algebra.Good written and
verbal communication skills are required in order to
communicate effectively with different levels of
Management within the organization.
