Job Description:
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative
Production Planner in the Production department located at our St. Joseph,
MO facility. As a Production Planner , you will be responsible for planning
and coordinating assigned ERP independent and dependent demand requirements.
This includes developing, publishing, and coordinating with the appropriate
Manufacturing Managers, weekly and monthly manufacturing schedules based
upon MPS requirements. It is also the responsibility of the Master
Production Planner to evaluate and calculate capacity constraints by
assigned work center, in order to assist the Manufacturing Manager, in
developing mid to long range capacity strategies.
This position will be focused on the planning of all Biological Antigens,
Media and Solutions.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing and implementing weekly and monthly replenishment
production schedules for assigned independent and dependent MPS
requirements.

Responsible for coordinating and communicating with the appropriate
Manufacturing Manager, the weekly and monthly manufacturing schedules for
the assigned dependent or independent requirements.

The Master Production Planner is also responsible for initiating, publishing
and distributing all the required ERP System documentation associated with
the assigned weekly manufacturing schedules.

Responsible for assuring that all related dependent raw material and
components will be available and QA Released prior to scheduling and
releasing firm weekly manufacturing orders.

Responsible for interfacing with Material Planning department and QA for
verification of component availability as required.
·
Responsible for tracking and taking appropriate inventory control actions
regarding short dated or expired raw material and/or WIP which is associated
with assigned dependent or independent demand.

Assist Management with production scheduling of new product launches as
required based upon assigned dependent or independent demand.
·
Responsible for scheduling Operational Process Development requirements as
required, taking into consideration routine production priorities and
assigned work center capacities.

Performs routine capacity analysis by assigned Work Centers to adjust
production schedules as required to maintain consistency of supply.

Requirements:
·
Bachelor's Degree required (Operations Management or Business preferred).
·
Experience with CGMP production guidelines is required for this position.
·
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access is required in order to perform
miscellaneous analyses as required.
·
In order to properly calculate assigned dependent and independent demands
the incumbent must have above average math skills; at least college level
math, statistics, and / or algebra.
·
Good written and verbal communication skills are required in order to
communicate effectively with different levels of Management within the
organization.
·
Thorough knowledge of how an ERP System operates regarding the following
modules - Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Master Production Scheduling
(MPS), Inventory Management (IM), Production Control and Costing (PCC),
Product Data Management (PDM), and Purchasing Modules. Additionally, needs
general knowledge of an Advance Planning System, and the concepts of such a
system, and how it relates to an ERP System.

APICS CPIM Certification Preferred.
